WE ARE APPROVED FOR INSTRUCTING 2024 CCW COURSES. This includes the 8 HOUR RENEWAL CCW COURSE & THE 16 hour initial CCW training course. You can obtain your California 8 hour CCW training renewal class and certification with just one day of CCW training/qualifications. 

We are DOJ certified, and all CCW classes are DOJ certified (under the new 2024 laws) and include the one hour mental health component and the required written test. Range qualifications include up to 3 weapons that will be on your permit. The weapons MUST be registered in CA under your name (It can longer be registered to a spouse).

DUE TO THE 2024 CALIFORNIA SENATE BILL 2, THE CCW LAWS HAVE CHANGED. SEE THE PARAGRAPH BELOW FOR DETAILS.  

Initial CCW training classes are 16 hours (2 days of training). Renewal CCW classes are 8 hours. Both classes do include a one hour mental health component in the classroom. You will be required to provide 3 character references on your initial or renewal application. ALL guns on your permit must be owned and registered to you in California (no spouse's guns on your CCW permit anymore). If you purchased your gun in California within the last couple of decades, it is already registered to the purchaser. As of 01/06/2024, the "sensitive areas" of Senate Bill 2 (where a gun cannot be carried) has been struck down by the 9th Circuit court. Courts will be revisiting "sensitive areas" in April 2024.

While attending a CCW Training Course with Best CCW Training you will learn all laws when it comes down to using a gun in self defense, which eliminates "gray areas" that exist for some CCW permit holders that have attended training classes from other instructors without the proper instruction. This includes draw and do not draw scenarios, shoot and do not shoot scenarios, where it is (and where it is not) permissible to carry a gun, the best type of holsters and concealment methods, the best methods for deploying your gun from a holster, what to expect after a self defense shooting, and all laws pertaining to the use of force.

Our CCW training will provide you with the skills and the knowledge of laws and scenarios pertaining to CCW, in which you need to apply on a daily routine to responsibly carry a concealed weapon, as well as maintaining your marksmanship skills.

If you have "handgun" safety and "recent" handgun shooting experience, the CCW qualifications are rather simple if you know your gun. Our training courses prepare you for the real every-day world, and are scenario driven.

BEST CCW Training's indoor classroom instruction is indoors with plenty of free and safe parking. We do utilize an outdoor private shooting range nearby for live fire drills, qualifications and other exercises. SAFETY IS OUR #1 PRIORITY.

If you are attending a CCW course, you should be fairly experienced with shooting handguns and demonstrate your ability to use a firearm safely.  The initial CCW course requires 16 hours, we will complete the training over 2 days (with range and classroom time in both days). For the 2 day course, it can be over a period of time. We have flexible weekday and weekend instruction, as you will see when you click on "schedule your class". We post our calendar on or about the 15th of each month, for the following month.

We are certified for the Utah concealed weapon permit instruction/certification (36 states).

Gun Safety is a very serious matter, which cannot be taken lightly. Becoming a handgun owner or a Concealed Weapons Permit Holder assumes a tremendous amount of responsibility and liability.

Just because you own or may have access to a firearm (unless you have had some extensive training) doesn't mean that you have the "proper" training, knowledge and ability to use it safely, store it properly, and be prepared for any situation. The proper and responsible training with a firearm is extremely important.

Whether you are new to shooting, or an experienced shooter, you will find that the variety of firearms courses which we offer can be a great wealth of experience.

Best CCW Training conducts regularly scheduled training classes throughout the month. Our calendar is posted online, on or about the 15th of each month, for the following month.

Best CCW Training also provides a Concealed Firearms Permit training certification for 36 "shall issue" states. This is an excellent opportunity to satisfy the requirements for these states, while only needing to apply within one or more states to obtain reciprocity throughout many other states (excluding CA, as CA does NOT have reciprocity agreements with any other state).

Although Best CCW Training provides CCW Training and Instructions/Certifications/Qualifications in 36 states, this does not apply to all CA counties. CA CCW training requirements may vary from county to county. Please email or call for further clarifications.
