8 Hour CCW Training for Placer County CCW renewal 

Placer County CCW permit holders with a valid permit must attend an 8 hour refresher (renewal) course and qualify with all weapons to be on the new permit. The weapons must be registered to you (no spouse) under new CA law effective 01/01/2024. The 8 hour CCW training covers everything that you need to know and should know while carrying a concealed weapon.

The renewal process is rather simple. Attend your 8 hour CCW training (including qualifying with all weapons to be on the new permit, apply online with the Placer County Sheriff CCW web portal, answer some questions and upload some documents.

Obtaining a CCW permit in Northern CA is much easier than many bay area and Southern CA counties, which outright refuse to issue CCW permits. You must schedule an appointment directly with the Placer County Sheriff Department, CCW division for your interview and background check.
