8 HOUR CCW TRAINING - SIERRA COUNTY CCW RENEWAL
Obtaining a CCW (carry concealed weapons) permit in Northern CA is much easier than many bay area and Southern
CA counties. Sierra County CCW permits and issuance criteria, training requirements and other information can be
found on this page with Best CCW Training, as well as the link below, to the Sierra County Sheriff's
Department.
CCW renewal applicants must attend an 8 hour CCW training course, which includes the range qualifications.
You must schedule an appointment directly with the Sierra County Sheriff Department, CCW division. You shall
demonstrate good moral character, prove that you are an outstanding resident of Sierra County, and be prepared to
undergo a thorough and complete background check.
Upon approval of your Sierra County CCW application, you will be required to complete at least
an 16 hour CCW training, including demonstrating the ability to safely (and proficiently) handle and
use the handguns (up to 3) to be on your permit, and you must "qualify" with each weapon to be on your permit,
by specific serial number. The gun(s) must be registered to you. Attend the BEST CCW training course
available, even if it is an hour and a half drive, and do not allow any shortcuts when taking this training. In CA,
unfortunately, it is a "privilege" and not a right to be issued a CCW. Training is very important, and selecting
the best instructor should be a very important factor, when you will be carrying a concealed weapon everyday.
Regardless of the number of days, or how long the training is, or how far away the training center is, it is very
crucial to know the laws of the state of CA, and particularly knowing the laws when it comes down to self defense,
and where you are not allowed to carry weapons, rather than just demonstrating that you can shoot a gun at a
range.
At BEST CCW Training, you will walk away with a tremendous amount of knowledge, and you will be well
prepared to carry concealed weapons.
