EL DORADO COUNTY CCW PERMITS
Upon approval of your El Dorado County CCW application, you will be required to complete a
16 hour "Initial" CCW training. At Best CCW Training, we do require that you qualify with and
demonstrate the ability to handle and qualify all handguns (up to 3 guns) for your El Dorado
County CCW training. For CCW renewal applicants, you must take an 8 hour CCW refresher training and
qualify with each handgun to be on your permit. CCW initial applicants must attend 16 hours of training (over
2 days).
Obtaining a CCW (carry concealed weapons) permit in Northern CA is much easier than many bay area and Southern
CA counties. You do not have to jump through any hoops to get your CCW permit in El Dorado County!
El Dorado County CCW permits and issuance criteria, training requirements and other information can be
found on this page with Best CCW Training, as well as the link below, to the El Dorado County
Sheriff's Department.
You must schedule an appointment directly with the El Dorado County Sheriff Department, CCW division.
You shall demonstrate good moral character, prove that you are an outstanding resident of El
Dorado County, and be prepared to undergo a thorough and complete background check.
Do yourself a huge favor, and take the BEST training course available, and do not allow any shortcuts when
taking this training. In CA, unfortunately, it is a "privilege" and not a right to be issued a CCW. Training is
very important, and selecting the best instructor should be a very important factor, when you will be carrying a
concealed weapon. Regardless of the number of days, or how long the training is, or how far away the training
center is, it is very crucial to know the laws of the state of CA, and particularly knowing the laws when it comes
down to self defense, and where you are not allowed to carry weapons, and much more, rather than just
demonstrating that you can shoot a gun at a range.
At BEST CCW Training, you will leave with a wealth of knowledge, and you will be well prepared to
carry concealed weapons.
