BEST CCW TRAINING
The CCW Course of Fire may vary from county to county. At Best CCW Training, we have adopted
the minimum course of fire for each county. The course of fire is rather easy, provided that you are safe
with your gun(s), know how to keep the gun pointed in a safe direction, reload, and follow all rules of gun
safety at all times.
You can expect your Course of Fire at Best CCW Training for all CCW applicants (both initial and
renewal) to include the following:
Our course of fire meets or exceeds the issuing authority requirements for which we are certified to
instruct. In general, the minimum distance is 1 1/2 yards, and the maximum distance is 15 yards (8 rounds maximum
at 15 yards). Some counties require 1 1/2, 3, 5, 7, and 10 yards. Other counties may require 3, 5, 7
and 15 yards. Regardless, you will shoot your particular county minimum course of fire (typically 50 rounds for
qualifications). If you still need further information about your specific county training requirements,
visit your county sheriff CCW website.
If you have no physical limitations, you can expect to shoot 6 rounds strong hand and 6 yards support
hand (unsupported) from 7 yards.
A Silhouette target will be used. Head shots are not included, and all scoring shall be from within
the 8 ring, to the bullseye (center mass).
Each individual shall qualify with a minimum of 80% score (40 of 50 bullets within the scoring
area).
Each qualification shall be either a Pass or Fail. There is no in between.
In the event that an applicant commits any violation of gun safety, or is unable to follow
commands, the applicant will receive a Fail for all guns, whether there were previous guns qualified or not.
There are no exceptions for gun safety violations. Our most important concern is your safety and the safety
of others at all times.
For applicants with disabilities, the instructor has the discretion to permit ADA accomodations, on an
individual case by case basis.
